Chapter 330

One of the escort pilots corrects Cathleen Bate about who they are facing. The enemy is Tomura Shigaraki, and EMP blasts are part of his kit. The jets raise shock shields and slot into formation while she readies herself, promising her wingmen that if they fall she will carry their bodies home to their families.

The thing wearing Tomura's face feels wrong to itself, at once Tomura Shigaraki and All For One, a state that has held since he woke. Stacking Radio Waves with Air Cannon and Heavy Payload, he throws an enormous sheet of electrical force at the formation, which scatters and survives it. As the taunts fly, Star and Stripe unveils New Order, a Quirk that lets her touch a target, speak its name, and impose a rule of her choosing. She erases the air across a hundred meters in front of her. Holding his breath, Tomura calls the power horrifying and immediately covets it.

She orders the fleet to converge from every angle. Reflect and Scatter send the lasers straight back while Super Regeneration knits him together, and she uses her Quirk to catch a beam outright. The pilots note that this regeneration is exactly why Japan's heroes lost. Sensing the vacuum lapse, Tomura takes it for New Order's ceiling, stretches himself with Springlike Limbs and blasts forward. She meets him in the air and puts a fist in his face, noting privately that she can sustain only two rules at once, and that the first always goes to her own strength, well short of All Might's but formidable regardless.

She tells him about the Japanese exchange student who pulled her and her family clear after a runaway villain hit their car years ago. He became her measure of what a hero is, and in chasing a broader peace she copied his hair down to the eight strands. Tomura grouses that every road leads back to All Might, and she reminds him that she has touched him now, so if he moves so much as an inch, his heart stops.

He congratulates himself on the trap she has walked into. In the vestige world, Tomura and All For One are still tearing at each other while merging, and All For One remarks that the process ordinarily needs two months. Tomura's hatred has driven them to roughly ninety-eight percent already, and the result will answer to neither of their names, arriving instead as something else entirely. Outside, he starts resisting, and Star and Stripe wonders in alarm whether this is not Tomura Shigaraki at all. All For One tells him to let the hatred run, since it is what carries them to the future they want. His hair spills out long while his mind returns to the old family home where the hatred was born, and somewhere far off, an explosion blooms.

New Order is named at last. Star and Stripe touches something, speaks its name, and writes a rule it has to obey, holding no more than two rules at any moment.

Her past surfaces. All Might rescued her and her family during his years in America, which set her on the hero path and explains the eight strands in her hair.

Three more of the fused villain's stolen powers appear for the first time, namely Heavy Payload, Reflect, and Scatter.

The merger of Tomura and All For One reaches roughly ninety-eight percent, far ahead of schedule, because Tomura's hatred keeps accelerating it.
