Chapter 374

A broadcast out of Washington opens the chapter, where a weatherwoman tracks an enormous cumulonimbus mass swelling over Japan and still growing, close to reshaping North American weather if it holds. Its source is convection: the simultaneous heat of Shoto, Dabi, and Endeavor's fires feeding into a nearby tropical typhoon. Meryl Hope pivots from the forecast to ask whether the butterfly effect set off by the Luminescent Baby's birth has condemned society to collapse, arguing that one man's power really can rewrite the world. She states plainly that she opposes the international decision to appease All For One, and the studio cuts to commercial.

In Kamino, Burnin watches Dabi's fire climb without limit and eat the city. Ingenium holds Shoto back, reminding him Phosphor drained him, while Shoto refuses to accept that his brother is the only one still upright after everyone else pushed past their ceiling. Dabi does the math: Endeavor sits too far away in Gunga, and finishing Shoto first will cost him the body he has left. So he converts his feet into jets and aims himself at his father instead. Burnin cannot understand how a frame never built for this heat has not already come apart. Shoto shouts at him not to run and turns the half-baked insult back on him, and then Skeptic's voice comes back to Dabi, carried by the Near High-End Nomu, offering a free ride as a warp gate swallows him.

At the U.A. Flying Fortress, rising wind starts complicating things for Manual, Eraser Head, and Phantom Thief. Monoma announces that this battle is headed for the history books and that he intends to be remembered as its reason, since heroes are still fighting and he cannot afford a single blink. Then Eraser Head turns to a warp gate opening behind them, with Kurogiri and Present Mic inside it.

All For One is holding forth out among the Gunga Mountain Ruins, arguing that childhood shapes the adult, applying it to Spinner's grim upbringing and the fierce loyalty he feels toward the friends who took him in. He also reveals a microchip planted in Nana Shimura's hand, insurance that Kurogiri would function regardless of his condition. Spinner delivered, he crows, as Dabi drops in above Endeavor and greets his dad, and a second gate produces two copies of Twice calling for Hawks. All For One explains that the sad man's death seeded the hatred in Himiko's heart, which Dabi cultivated for his own revenge, handing her the instrument to destroy everything. He invites Hawks to watch what that earlier kill has purchased, and Hawks panics, shouting that the copies have to die now.

A vast cumulonimbus cloud is revealed to have formed over Japan from the combined heat of Shoto, Dabi, and Endeavor, and it keeps spreading.

Meryl Hope, an American weather reporter, uses the story to publicly oppose All For One's rule.

Over in Kamino, nobody can explain how Dabi is still upright and still swinging.

With Kurogiri active, warp gates start redistributing the villains: Kurogiri and Present Mic arrive at Eraser Head's position on the Flying Fortress, Dabi lands in Gunga in front of Endeavor, and two of Himiko's Twice Doubles follow, alarming Hawks.

One of the Doubles is shown carrying a broken fragment of Froppy's goggles.

Counted 374th in Horikoshi's serial, the thirteen-page installment ran in issue 52 of 2022 before its collection in Volume 37, within the Final War arc. Episode 153 adapts it.

Meryl Hope debuts here, introduced as an American broadcaster rather than a combatant.
