Appearance

Inabi wore his black hair down to his shoulders above dark eyes. His dress followed clan custom, a long-sleeved, high-collared top matched with trousers, and as a police officer he added the standard Leaf uniform bearing the force's crest on his shoulder. The anime adds a scar shaped like an X on his right cheek, earned near the end of his life, a mark that stayed with him when Kabuto brought him back.

Personality

Belonging to the celebrated Uchiha gave Inabi great faith in his own gifts. Blunt in the same fashion as Yashiro, he dismissed Itachi as an impertinent child and pushed for the young man's arrest.

History

Together with Yashiro and Tekka, Inabi confronted Itachi about where he had been when Shisui supposedly took his own life. Presented with the alleged suicide note, he remarked that any Sharingan wielder could forge such a thing, then handed it back with a suggestion that the Anbu examine the affair too. As the officers left they let slip cutting hints about Itachi's guilt, provoking him to attack; only the arrival of Fugaku, plus Itachi's apology and the excuse that he was worn from other duties, ended the confrontation. Inabi died along with the rest of the clan during the Uchiha Downfall. In one telling, Itachi cut down Inabi's wife before either sensed him, and when Inabi tried to answer with a fire technique, his head was severed before the flames could form. His chakra ran strong, and he was among those who awoke the Sharingan, granting him insight into chakra flow, genjutsu and copied techniques; he also handled a blade with skill and could breathe fire. Years later Kabuto reincarnated him for the assault on Tonika Village, sent him against the Hachō Village militia, and summoned him once more to fight Naruto and Sakura, where Shikamaru's shadow bound him until Naruto's Nine-Tails clone trampled the restrained soldiers. During questioning at Dokku's, he subdued the villager when Dokku lunged at Disonasu.
