Kongō

Bulk defines Kongō at a glance. He is a towering, heavily built brawler whose broad torso and meaty limbs advertise the power beneath them. Small, dark, bead-like eyes sit above a swollen nose and heavy lips, and the shaggy brown mane spilling over his shoulders is actually a wig, a disguise he shares with his two partners. Cut short underneath is a plain buzz. His outfit pairs a white vest with a green undershirt, black gloves, and a grey headband stripped of any village crest, and the overall effect reads exactly as the crude tough he is.

His temperament matches his frame. Kongō is a savage bully who relishes violence, and rather than scheme he simply pounds whatever stands in front of him. A cruel streak surfaces when he closes in on the child Hikaru Tsuki, leering as he moves to end the boy. That bravado collapses the instant a fight turns against him, though. Once Naruto hurls him the length of the beach, the giant is reduced to whimpering and dragging himself away.

Kongō and his fellow clansmen take a contract from Shabadaba, the minister plotting to seize the throne by murdering King Kakeru Tsuki and his heirs. He first surfaces beside Ishidate as the royal bodyguards flee, then ambushes Naruto and drives his skull into the sand hard enough to knock him cold. Rock Lee falls to him just as easily. When he corners young Hikaru, a toy arrow only makes him laugh before he snaps it, but Naruto's surge of Nine-Tails chakra interrupts the killing and batters him along the shore. His group later withdraws with the captured king Michiru.

The rematch inside Shabadaba's castle proves fatal. Lee sheds his weights, opens the fifth of the Eight Gates, and drives Kongō down through several floors with the Reverse Lotus, ending his life. In combat the mercenary trades wholly on strength, throwing bone-crushing punches and shrugging off heavy punishment, while his allies' sense-warping powder keeps foes from dodging. Speed and cunning, by contrast, are simply beyond him.
