Appearance

Mebuki has fair skin, green eyes, and blonde hair cut to shoulder length with a single bang falling across her face. She wears a white qipao dress marked with three red circles at the front and back hems, pink three-quarter trousers beneath it, and brown sandals; in Sakura's childhood flashbacks the dress is red instead. Her counterpart from the alternate world dons standard Konoha attire with a flak jacket but no forehead protector.

Personality

Kind and attentive, Mebuki worries openly over Sakura's wellbeing. Her grounded, serious streak clashes with Kizashi's breezy nature, and the pair bicker constantly, since she often feels he treats matters too lightly.

History

In the anime Mebuki is shown to be a capable taijutsu fighter, once felling a sumo wrestler with a single kick and improvising with weapons as unlikely as a frying pan. In Road to Sakura, she and Kizashi returned from shopping to find Ino and a bewildered Sakura at their door; their daughter, shaken by the familiar faces, fled in tears, then tearfully embraced them once Kizashi returned a lost necklace and revealed its match around his own neck. Trusting Sakura to Ino, they told her to come home when ready. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, with most shinobi away, Ebisu gathered the village's women and children, and Mebuki joined the other mothers in repelling attacking Sumo Wrestlers before watching Konohamaru finish them with a Rasengan.

In Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, the alternate world's Mebuki and Kizashi died protecting the village when their Sakura was small, last seen bidding her a warm farewell; in the real world, an argument drove Sakura from home, though mother and daughter reconciled with a hug by the film's end. Kishimoto, personally involved in planning that movie, designed Mebuki himself, noting he had long wanted such parents in the main story and had always intended the couple's constant banter.
