Mitoku

Mitoku wears glasses and has dark eyes, with black hair pulled into a short, high ponytail and a small goatee below. His outfit centers on a white trench coat thrown over an orange-brown shirt, dark trousers, and plain sandals.

For all his sense of duty, Mitoku leans toward the lazy side and dislikes lingering at the office after hours. Once Shikamaru Nara, whom Lady Tsunade had sent over carrying Jiraiya's cipher, warned that he might need to return, Mitoku simply invited him to drop by his home, since he had no plans to remain at work.

As the division's chief, Mitoku commands every cipher in use across the village, and one look at Jiraiya's final note tells him it matches no known algorithm. He steers Shikamaru toward a solution, reasoning that whoever knew the Sannin best would make the surest key to the puzzle. When Shikamaru arrives at the office to crack the message, Mitoku judges that, given the rushed conditions under which Jiraiya wrote it, the code cannot be terribly elaborate, and he urges the team to picture the person it was meant for. Telling Shikamaru he can be found at home rather than the office, he then asks Shiho her plans, meaning to head off to bed himself; she answers that someone should remain in case Shikamaru comes back. In the film Blood Prison, he appears among the villagers in Naruto's recollection while the boy draws in natural energy for Sage Mode.
