Shimon Hijiri

Shimon wears his brown hair at shoulder length, with two long bangs falling in front. Those bangs, together with his forehead protector, keep his eyes hidden from view. His attire is the standard grey button-up suit worn by the Torture and Interrogation Force.

Shimon is a thoroughly earnest man who wants to see every task through. He has little patience for fooling around, particularly when the stakes are high, and he will readily raise his voice or bicker with anyone who gets under his skin.

Though little of his combat ability has been shown, Shimon is skilled enough to assist Inoichi in probing an enemy's mind to draw out useful intelligence. During the Chunin Exams he was among the elite chunin who joined Ibiki Morino to invigilate the written portion, watching the candidates and calling out any who were caught cheating on three or more occasions. In the anime, Tsunade later dispatched him alongside other chunin to look into a possible attack on Konoha, an incident that turned out to have been staged by Genno.

When Pain assaulted the village, Shimon, Mawashi Dokuraku, and Tonbo Tobitake had been helping Inoichi Yamanaka read the mind of Yudachi to extract information. As the attack began, they worked to distract the Animal Path, buying Inoichi and the others the chance to escape and study what had been learned.
