Sōsha Amino

Sōsha is a short girl whose red hair is cropped short and swept over to the right. Grey eyes sit beneath short, rounded brows, and she wears an oversized pink sweater with a shirt collar peeking out, light blue jeans, and sandals. A dark blue backpack goes with her wherever she reports.

Bubbly and quick to chatter, Sōsha loves passing along the latest developments and keeps herself well informed about the more prominent students in her class. Mysteries fascinate her, though the same curiosity that pulls her toward a puzzle can just as easily send her fleeing in fright. She treats her role on the Academy paper with real seriousness, playing the investigative reporter, going so far as to mime holding a microphone while questioning people, and taking pains to check her facts. That devotion to the story can override her classmates' comfort, as when she runs a piece exposing Eiki Fūma for secretly reading the Icha Icha books. Her knack for digging up information shows in her detailed grasp of various clans and recent happenings.

Sōsha joins a new Academy class placed under the teacher Hana Kaka, one filled with the children of famous figures, including an acting duo's daughter, the Seventh Hokage's daughter, and Kae Yukiwari, princess of the Land of Bamboo, alongside the older student Kawaki. At a tea party at Kae's home, she applauds with the others when Kae abandons her prim manner and speaks candidly. After telling her classmates about the Academy's Seven Mysteries, Sōsha sets out to investigate them at night but abandons the effort in fear once Kawaki and Batora stage the first one, then writes it up for the paper afterward. Grouped with Himawari Uzumaki and Kae for a team competition, she helps their side take first place.

As the class prepares its play about the Sannin, Sōsha publishes a story about Eiki studying an Icha Icha book to better grasp Jiraiya. Eiki tries to convince her that Kawaki is a real shinobi, but when his proof falls through she accuses him of pushing a fake story on her and later joins the repairs to the damaged set. On the day of the festival she roams around snapping photos for a planned album, sheltering inside when a terror threat strikes, and afterward she visits the hospitalised Hana. Kawaki, Himawari, and Eiki approach her to check her festival photos, and though she is suspicious, she relents, only to publish an embarrassing story about Eiki the next day.

When the class is sent to a deserted island for survival training, injuries and vanishing food supplies feed Sōsha's fear of rumoured rogue ninja, and she pitches in to look for provisions and Neon's lost drone. After Kawaki and Himawari reveal that Hana is secretly an assassin who has killed Kae, Sōsha recalls an old edition of the Academy paper carrying an article about the island's former residents, and with the issue in hand she helps narrow down where Hana may have taken Kae. The students track the pair, then head to the docks to raise the alarm, meeting Sai and Team 25 along the way. Once Hana's true teaching self reclaims control, the class finally stages its Sannin play and sees Kae off at the station, with Sōsha urging her to write to them often.
