Breakthrough

Boruto presses Kiseru over the deaths of Batta and Fugo, but Kiseru fires back by asking why Rokuro's account is trusted above his own. When the questioning turns to a stolen communication device, Kiseru bolts for the gate with Boruto in pursuit. Meanwhile Namua's wound proves worse than expected, and Shamo hurries to fetch first aid from Rokuro while warning him that Kiseru may serve Oga. Refusing to be left behind, the badly hurt Namua props the closing gate open so the others can chase after Boruto, then blacks out.

Cornered by Yatsume, Shamo, and Rokuro, Kiseru confesses that his sob story was fabricated and tunnels underground with Fire Release, luring the group into a collapsing cavern. Shamo shields Yatsume with Earth Release, Rokuro baits Kiseru out with parasites only to have them burned away, and Kiseru nearly finishes Rokuro before Boruto's Vanishing Rasengan forces a retreat. Rokuro warns that their foe means to pick them off one at a time by keeping them divided.

The shinobi who trapped Mitsuki close in on him, Sarada, and Kawaki, and Sarada recognizes them as Konoha Anbu. Their leader shares intelligence: they belong to a joint squad drawn from the Five Great Shinobi Countries investigating mass disappearances, and Kiseru is one of their own, planted undercover with his role as an Outer serving as cover. They believe a remnant of Kara is responsible, and reveal that many elite jonin sent to look into the vanishings have themselves gone missing, leaving only a cryptic warning to trust nothing.

Shamo races to tell Boruto that Kiseru is not Oga's man, but the two clash again. Boruto's insistence that everything around them is an illusion finally clicks with Kiseru, who understands the warning at last. Placing himself between them, Shamo takes a blow meant to stop the fight and hands Boruto Kiseru's scroll. Kiseru explains he could trust no one because someone framed him for Batta's death, then stabs Boruto and reveals the maze itself is a genjutsu. He casts a jutsu leaving the rest to Boruto and collapses. Boruto wakes inside a white chamber where everyone is held in suspended animation.

This installment sits within the Labyrinth Game Arc of the Boruto anime. Yatsume's fear during the fight, Kawaki's clash with Boruto over empathy, and the reveal of the medical-ninjutsu-trained Kiseru's true loyalties reframe the arc's central conflict as a rescue rather than a hunt.
