Congratulations (episode)

Sakura keeps Kaguya from taking flight, and Kakashi looks on with pride as Naruto and Sasuke touch her at last, triggering the sealing jutsu Hagoromo taught them. With her Rinne Sharingan blocked, Kaguya marvels that scattered fragments of her own chakra managed to bind her again. Hagoromo senses the seal take hold and readies himself to return everyone home. Her giant Truth-Seeking Ball crumbles, the land closes over her, and she breaks apart and reverts to the Outer Path's Demonic Statue as its sealed tailed beasts are torn loose.

The statue's rabbit head expels Madara's body, and while Sasuke and the beasts regroup with Kakashi and Sakura, Naruto hunts down Black Zetsu, already plotting Kaguya's next revival. Naruto condemns the creature as a spoiled child too frightened to leave its mother, then flings it toward the reforming moon to seal it away. Hagoromo calls everyone back with help from the past Kage he summoned from the Pure Land and credits Kakashi for directing the sealing, though Kakashi waves off the praise. Kakashi says goodbye to Obito as the borrowed chakra fades from him.

Hagoromo holds Sasuke back from the dying Madara, who trades final words with Hashirama before passing. He then announces he will release the summoned Kage, including those bound by Impure World Reincarnation. As dawn breaks, Minato wishes his son a happy birthday, and Naruto rattles off a flood of messages for Minato to carry to Kushina while the spirits drift back to the afterlife. The adaptation folds in several anime-only touches, among them Madara bearing a replica of Hashirama's face and Kurama showing Naruto a fist rather than the middle finger of the manga.
