Momoshiki keeps up his assault on Code, whose strength as an Otsutsuki makes plain how Boro fell to him. Ada warns Code by ear that the enemy is beyond him, so Code freezes Kawaki and holds him up as a shield, since Momoshiki needs an Otsutsuki to give up for a chakra fruit. Reshaping his Rasengan into a precise ranged shot, Momoshiki peels Code away and seizes Kawaki, who cannot match him.

Shikamaru arrives and pins Momoshiki with his shadow long enough for Naruto to snatch Kawaki free, though the shadow soon proves too weak to hold. Code then takes Shikamaru hostage and urges Momoshiki to make a son kill his father. As Momoshiki savors the idea and aims an Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan, Kawaki, gripped by his wish to shield Naruto, absorbs the attack and a new Karma blooms across him.

Ada reveals to Code that Amado never meant to give Kawaki a real choice, likely restoring the Karma along with his arm. Kawaki calls up Isshiki's Dojutsu and its powers, startling everyone, then assures Naruto he is still himself and asks him to stand aside. Fighting Momoshiki nearly as an equal atop a floating cube, Kawaki forms Fire Release seals through Momoshiki's own hand and pins him with chakra rods as Boruto starts to resurface.

When Kawaki moves to crush Momoshiki, Naruto rescues Boruto and tells Kawaki to stop, but Kawaki means to see Momoshiki dead. Boruto rises, admits the medicine failed, shoves Naruto clear with a Gale Palm, and reminds Kawaki of their promise. Kawaki transforms his arm and rams it through Boruto's chest, leaving everyone stunned.

Adapting chapters 65 and 66, the episode belongs to the Code's Assault arc. It is the first installment whose next-episode preview runs with no narration beyond the upcoming title.
