Migration Season

As dawn nears, Karin and Sarada watch the wild geese ready themselves to migrate with tainted birds still mixed in among them. Jūgo urges Boruto to flee as he tears free, his transformation building while Tosaka hungers to see his full strength. Learning from Sarada that the infected birds have red eyes, the two try to single them out, and Team 15 arrives at the lake to help. Still slowed by the tranquilizer, Boruto is overtaken by Tosaka in the chase. When Boruto attacks with shadow clones and explosive kunai, Tosaka shakes them off, transforms completely, and snares the whole group with extra limbs and a tail. Impatient that Jūgo will not fight him, he dismisses Boruto's warnings, and Jūgo, now fully changed, makes quick work of Tosaka, absorbs his cursed seal, and casts him aside.

Struggling to round up every infected goose, Karin floats the idea of simply killing them all. Jūgo rampages on and turns on Boruto, while a battered Suigetsu hauls himself to the lake. Nue shields Boruto from Jūgo and keeps attacking against Sumire's wishes, until Boruto warns her the summon will only endanger them and insists they find another approach. Recalling that Konohamaru once reversed such a transformation by landing a heavy Rasengan, and doubting his own can hit that hard, Boruto notices the speed of Jūgo's charges and reasons that meeting one head-on might do enough damage to break the change. He builds momentum by layering one Boruto Stream atop another and lands the strike, but the transformation holds until a domesticated goose flies past and Jūgo, watching it, reverts on his own.

With the sun up, Sarada steels herself to cull the birds, but Mitsuki stops her as Konohamaru arrives with Suigetsu and a serum, stolen from the enemy base, that neutralizes the cursed seal. Suigetsu drinks it, merges with the lake, and showers the cure over the flock, and the tame goose finally manages to fly off with the wild ones. Sumire resolves to join the Scientific Ninja Weapons Team to better understand Nue through science, asking Namida and Wasabi to keep it quiet for now. Konohamaru calls the mission a success but is exasperated to learn Karin and Suigetsu left with Tosaka in tow, while Suigetsu teases Karin about her motherly streak toward Sarada. Boruto shrugs off Sarada's charge that he was reckless, and Jūgo, gazing after the departing goose, wonders whether he too might fly one day.
