Boruto episode 72 opens the Mitsuki's Disappearance Arc, as a night raid on Konoha's gate leaves a discarded forehead protector behind and the village realizes that Orochimaru's son has walked away, apparently of his own choosing.
Foreign shinobi assault Uō and Saō as they stand watch over a Konoha gate at night. Come morning, Sai reviews the scene and turns up a village forehead protector near the site. Noticing Mitsuki is absent, Sarada doubts Boruto's guess that he is simply at home, and the two head to his apartment to tell him their missions are off. They find the door ajar and the rooms empty, with only a portrait of Boruto beside the bed. Asking the other genin for leads, Boruto learns from Chōchō that the jōnin have all been called to the Hokage even though most work was canceled, and when he and Sarada report Mitsuki missing to Konohamaru, they sense he is withholding something.
The pair eavesdrop on a high level meeting where officials weigh who attacked the guards and why. Sai confirms the forehead protector is Mitsuki's, and Ino reads the sentries' memories to reveal Mitsuki left willingly alongside the raiders. Naruto discloses to those unaware that Mitsuki is Orochimaru's son, alarming Tsunade and the advisers, though he stands by having accepted him as a shinobi and Shikamaru notes Orochimaru's research matters against the Ōtsutsuki. As a tracking team forms and the village tightens security, Boruto finds one of Mitsuki's snakes near the attack site fending off an attacker's remnant. He destroys the remnant, and the snake plays back a recorded message: this is Mitsuki's will. Resolved to learn the truth, Boruto prepares to leave, and Sarada insists on joining him.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
