The Next Challenge! Naruto vs. The Nine-Tails!!

Alongside Killer B, Yamato, and Motoi, Naruto goes back to the Falls of Truth to face its first test once more. This time, when his shadowy other self appears, he chooses not to strike. Instead he thanks the figure for every moment his anger has carried him through and pulls it into an embrace. With that resentment set aside, the darkness within him fades and he clears the opening trial.

As Motoi heads off to report to Kumogakure, the remaining three descend to the Tailed Beast Temple concealed behind the waterfall, a chamber where generations of jinchūriki have worked to master their beasts. The next stage requires Naruto to speak with the Nine-Tails directly and wrest away its power, with the grim caveat that a failure would trigger a rampage, ending only when the fox is sealed within the room at the cost of Naruto's life.

Killer B examines Naruto's seal and is impressed to find the Four Symbols Seal, judging it stronger than his own Iron Armour Seal. Linking his mind to Naruto's to guide him, B watches as Naruto comes face to face with the Nine-Tails, which is puzzled to feel none of the hatred that usually summons these meetings. Drawing on the key entrusted to him by Gerotora, Naruto releases the seal entirely and frees the fox.

Warned that he will die if he cannot subdue the beast, Naruto relies on Killer B, who conjures octopus tentacles to bind it. Enraged at being restrained and at the Eight-Tails' interference, the Nine-Tails tears loose and hurls a Tailed Beast Ball. Because his real body stays motionless, Naruto is able to gather natural energy, slip into Sage Mode, and strike the fox with a senjutsu-charged Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan.

The episode belongs to the Fourth Shinobi World War: Countdown arc and adapts chapters 495 through 497. In one shot, Killer B is briefly shown wearing a Konohagakure forehead protector.
