The Quest for Souvenirs

As the Academy students sail away from Kirigakure, Boruto notes that Kagura never came to see them off, unaware the young swordsman is quietly watching the ship shrink into the distance. Back home, he cannot understand why Himawari is sulking. At school, he, Sarada, and Iwabee are summoned to Iruka's office; despite Boruto's improvised excuse, it turns out Chojuro praised the trio in a formal notice, though they land in detention regardless. Far away, Suigetsu briefs Orochimaru on the island's turmoil, and Orochimaru hints he engineered the unrest to ease his own movements, adding that Shizuma and his followers have been quietly detained and placed in rehabilitation.

Boruto finally learns from Hinata that he promised his sister souvenirs and forgot entirely. Unable to admit it, he spins a story about sweets getting muddled with a classmate's bags, then scrambles to source the treats, only to find everyone has eaten theirs. Sarada points him toward a shop Chocho had discovered, but the owner refuses to sell. The two wager the sweets on a card game, and when Mitsuki notices the shopkeeper's hand reflected nearby, Boruto declines to cheat and asks for a reshuffle instead. Impressed, the owner hands over the treats for free. On the walk home Tayori delivers an apologetic note from Kagura, and Boruto at last gives Himawari her sweets while confessing the truth.

The 32nd entry in the Boruto anime, part of the School Trip Arc, premiered in Japan on November 8, 2017, and in English on May 26, 2019. It pairs the opening OVER with the ending I Keep Running, and closes out the fallout from the Kirigakure adventure.
