With Kaguya sealed, Sasuke turns on the world he helped save, sealing the tailed beasts and declaring the Five Kage must fall so he can rebuild everything anew. Naruto refuses to abandon him, and the two rivals set off for the Valley of the End to settle their bond once and for all.
As the revived Kage's spirits fade away, the freed tailed beasts weigh where to go next. Hagoromo urges Kurama to rejoin Naruto, whose chakra carries a trace of each beast and can serve as a meeting ground for them all. When the sage asks whether the answers the two young men once gave him still hold, Naruto affirms his has not wavered, adding that facing Kaguya left him grateful Kushina was his mother. Hagoromo then reveals that Naruto and Sasuke, holding the beasts' chakra and the Rinnegan between them, are the ones able to dispel the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
To everyone's shock, Sasuke announces he intends to kill the Five Kage before lifting the illusion, and he binds the tailed beasts in genjutsu with plans to destroy them later as well. Naruto offers an apology to Hagoromo while Kakashi presses Sasuke on his reasoning.
Sasuke admits his early aims were revenge and ruin, but says he now means to tear down the shinobi world in its current form and remake it, laying its failures at the feet of the Five Kage. He seals the tailed beasts away with Chibaku Tensei, prompting Hagoromo to lament that granting his power to both sides has changed nothing. Determined to strike Naruto down and use the captured beasts to end the illusion on his own terms, Sasuke insists they take their fight elsewhere.
Sakura steps forward and confesses she still loves him, yet her plea leaves Sasuke cold, and he traps her in genjutsu to keep her out of the coming duel. Kakashi rebukes him for the pain his rejection causes her, and Sasuke recalls his family before departing. Naruto promises Kakashi he will honour his vow to bring Sasuke home, and Hagoromo, speaking of his own sons, voices his faith that Naruto can still reach him.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
The rivals arrive at the Valley of the End, where Naruto declares he will not let Sasuke act however he wishes and repeats Itachi's teaching on what it truly means to be Hokage, a title Sasuke has reinterpreted through the way his brother lived. Two animation quirks appear in the episode: Gyūki is drawn with the horns and tooth it had actually lost fighting the Ten-Tails, and in one shot the Rinnegan pattern fails to fill Sasuke's whole eye. The installment adapts chapters 692 and 693 of the Kaguya Ōtsutsuki Strikes arc.
