Set on beating Deepa in a rematch, Boruto corners Kakashi and pleads for coaching that will turn his Rasengan into the larger Big Ball version. Kakashi calls that goal unreachable, since the boy lacks the Nine-Tails reserves such a jutsu demands, yet he warms to the request after spotting Naruto's stubbornness in his son. He quizzes Boruto on the basics, laying out how blending nature transformation with shape transformation strengthens a technique, and noting the Rasengan relies purely on the latter. When Boruto shows off his Vanishing Rasengan, Kakashi flags its lightning content as a flawed half-measure and steers him toward wind chakra instead. Elsewhere, Sarada begs Sasuke to hand her the Chidori, only to be told the move leaves its user wide open, a lesson he drives home by countering her at once. A single tomoe, he adds, gives her far too little sight to track a foe, so he shifts her toward mastering the eye she already has.

Sasuke corrects Sarada's belief that fresh tomoe can be trained into existence, explaining that only intense emotion under extreme pressure awakens them, then drills her against volleys of projectiles she keeps failing to slip past. Konohamaru and Mugino tour Victor's laboratories and meet only sanitised displays; pressing about the Hashirama Cell sours the mood, but Konoha cannot force answers without sparking a diplomatic clash. A discouraged Boruto vents about Mitsuki's injury and his own weakness, prompting Kakashi to hand over a lunchbox Himawari meant for him and remind the boy he does not stand alone. The nudge sparks an idea. Working alongside a shadow clone, Boruto finally laces his Rasengan with wind nature before collapsing from strain, while Sarada learns to watch the strike zone rather than every target.

The installment is the 168th of the Boruto anime and belongs to the Kara Actuation Arc, airing in Japan on 4 October 2020 and in English on 17 May 2022. Both trainees draw their resolve from Mitsuki's earlier harm, and a closing beat reveals the border escort of Konohamaru and Mugino was staged so the two could slip back in and dig for the truth about Victor.
