Episode 114 of the Boruto anime is a lighthearted romp about a collectible card craze, as Boruto and friends wage a popularity contest to land Shino, and then Rock Lee, a spot in the next series.
Passing through Konoha, Sarada finds Boruto, Metal Lee, and Shikadai tearing into packs of the popular Shinobi Picture Scrolls cards. Boruto groans over pulling yet another duplicate of his father, and Sarada writes the trio off as childish before Chocho drags her away for more desserts. Comparing their hauls, the boys bump into Shino, who is visibly stung that Kiba and Akamaru made the card lineup while he did not. Knowing how capable Shino is, Boruto sets out to get him a card, noting the Kaminarimon Company produces them.
The group secures a meeting with Denki's father, who shows them a list for the next series that still has one open slot he cannot fill because of his deep respect for shinobi. They lobby for Shino, but Metal Lee pushes for his own father instead, and with the executive unable to decide, Denki suggests letting a customer survey settle it by profit. Boruto and Shikadai rally support for Shino with clones and leaflets, while Metal and Denki advertise Rock Lee on the trains. With Lee leading, Boruto trades a rare duplicate Seventh Hokage card to have Iwabee sculpt a Shino face near the Hokage Rock, Metal carves his father's likeness back in, and the two escalate until the monument is whittled down to a small statue. Shino and Rock Lee stop them, saying they never wanted the spotlight, just as a nearby fire breaks out. Lee kicks the statue into a water tank and Shino's insects pull the trapped person to safety.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
The episode is a standalone comedic entry in the Boruto series. The rescue boosts both men's public profiles enough that Denki's father adds a second slot, and the released series finally includes cards for both Shino and Rock Lee, though the genin keep pulling duplicates anyway.
Boruto doesn't want a card for himself; in this episode he sets out to get his friend Shino Aburame a spot in the Shinobi Picture Scrolls card series, since Shino feels left out after Kiba and Akamaru made the lineup but he did not.
