Team Dosu

Known as the Three Sound Shinobi, this squad forms part of Orochimaru's larger scheme to slip agents into the Chunin Exams held in Konoha. It enters openly as a genin group flying the banner of Otogakure, while a second cell led by Kabuto masqueraded as Leaf ninja and Orochimaru himself took over the identity of yet another entrant. Every one of the three fighters carries alterations that let them wield sound as a weapon. Dosu Kinuta commands the unit, backed by his teammates Kin Tsuchi and Zaku Abumi.

On the surface their orders in the Forest of Death called for killing Sasuke, but their true assignment was to probe the abilities of Orochimaru's intended vessel. The three barely lived through the fight once Sasuke gave in to the Cursed Seal of Heaven. Dosu advanced through the tournament while Kin and Zaku fell to Shikamaru Nara and Shino Aburame in their bouts, and he came to understand that the group had served its purpose and become expendable. Craving petty payback against Orochimaru, Dosu tried to claim the right to face Sasuke in the finals by challenging Gaara, who killed him for it.

Dosu leads Kin Tsuchi and Zaku Abumi, all three built for sonic techniques. When Baki voiced worry over Dosu's death, Kabuto Yakushi remarked that the young shinobi had already served out his usefulness. Kin and Zaku met a grim end of their own, offered up as sacrifices so Orochimaru could revive Hashirama and Tobirama Senju through the Impure World Reincarnation during the assault on the Leaf. In the Japanese text, each member's name follows Western ordering, given name ahead of family name, much like Rock Lee and Might Guy.
