The Naraka Path seizes Konohamaru and presses him on where Naruto is hiding. Rather than answer, the boy exploits Pain's absorption in the questioning to land the Rasengan that Naruto once taught him. In another part of the village, Tsunade identifies the Deva Path as Yahiko. It argues that shielding Naruto only stands in the way of a peaceful world, yet she refuses to give up his location and insists he needs no protection. Meanwhile, Inoichi and Shizune reason that a single guiding consciousness must be steering the Six Paths of Pain from somewhere far off. Before they can begin the search, the Human Path captures Shizune, plucks the answer from her thoughts, and discovers Naruto is at Mount Myōboku.

The Naraka Path captures Konohamaru, who strikes back with a Rasengan. Tsunade recognizes the Deva Path as Yahiko but refuses to disclose Naruto's location. Inoichi and Shizune theorize that a remote master consciousness commands the Six Paths of Pain. The Human Path captures Shizune and reads her mind. Pain learns Naruto is training at Mount Myōboku.

The chapter belongs to the Pain's Assault arc and appears in Volume 46. Its revelation of Naruto's hiding place sets up the next stage of the invasion, while Tsunade's recognition of Yahiko foreshadows deeper history behind the Paths.
