"Know Pain"

One of Pain's bodies, the Human Path, tears Shizune's soul away and, through that contact, learns the location where Naruto has withdrawn to train. That intelligence passes instantly to the rest of the Six Paths. The Animal Path slips out of the settlement, and the Deva Path, resolved to make Tsunade answer for standing against what it deems a god, springs upward over the rooftops.

Far off at Mount Myoboku, Naruto senses that Kosuke has fallen and understands at once that disaster has struck his home. He readies himself to move. Back at the Hidden Leaf, the Animal Path calls the other bodies clear of the blast zone, leaving only the Deva Path behind. That single figure then triggers its repelling technique and the entire village is flattened in an instant. As the dust rises, Shima calls a gathered force to the ruined heart of the settlement.

Shizune is killed when the Human Path extracts her soul, betraying Naruto's training site to the enemy. The Deva Path targets Tsunade for her defiance. Naruto, alerted by Kosuke's death, prepares to return. The Deva Path's Shinra Tensei obliterates the Hidden Leaf, while Shima rallies a summoned contingent to the crater.

The chapter's English title, drawn from Pain's own philosophy, frames the assault as a lesson in suffering delivered to the village. It marks the moment the invasion turns from infiltration into open destruction, with the repulsion attack reshaping the entire setting for the fight ahead.
