Summary

Hagoromo faces a calm Naruto and lays out the truth of his lineage: the boy carries the reincarnated will of Asura, the Sage's own son, while Sasuke bears the will of the other brother, Indra. He recounts how Hashirama and Madara once held those same souls, and how Madara stumbled into a new tier of power by folding Hashirama's cells into his body, unknowingly blending the chakra of both siblings.

Reaching further back, the Sage describes his mother Kaguya, whose might dwarfed anything a human could hope to match. So great was her strength that people branded her a demon and cowered beneath her rule, backed by a pair of dreaded eye techniques. Hagoromo sees that same ambition mirrored in Madara, who chases the Ten-Tails in a bid to stand alongside Kaguya and the Sage himself.

Key Events

Admitting he has spent far too long merely watching history unfold, Hagoromo asks Naruto to bring Madara's plan to an end. He then summons the chakra of all nine tailed beasts, the very energy Obito had once sealed inside the boy, and the beasts stir as the prophecy they long anticipated draws near. The scene reveals that this exact exchange is happening at the same moment inside Sasuke's mind, with the Sage determined that Indra's heir join in reshaping the world. Bidding both youths to reach out their hands, Hagoromo transfers a share of his power to each of them.
