Reward…!!

Because Chiyo's reincarnation technique only transfers life to someone already gone, and Sakura still clings to hers, the old woman survives the act of reviving the girl. Sasori, meanwhile, is frustrated to have killed no one and resigns himself to death, undone by his failure to fully turn his own body into a puppet. Fading fast, he chooses to do something he calls pointless: as a reward for Sakura outlasting him, he reveals that a spy hidden inside Orochimaru's organization is due to meet him at the Tenchi Bridge ten days from now. He passes away cradled by his Mother and Father puppets, and Chiyo muses on why he let her final strike land. She too crumples, still poisoned, yet waves off Sakura's offer to carry her back to Sunagakure, insisting she has unfinished business. Far away, Naruto and Kakashi keep chasing Deidara, and once Kakashi has readied his Mangekyō Sharingan, he tells Naruto to begin.

Chiyo survives the revival because Sakura was never truly dead. Sasori accepts his death and, as a parting gift, discloses the location and timing of a meeting with Orochimaru's mole. He dies embraced by his parent puppets. A poisoned Chiyo refuses evacuation, claiming a task remains. Kakashi prepares his Mangekyō Sharingan against Deidara and signals Naruto to start.

This is chapter 275, gathered in volume 31 during the Kazekage Rescue Mission. Sasori's tip about the Tenchi Bridge spy sets up a major turn later in the story.
