Summary

Racing through the forest, Boruto suddenly seizes up and falls, baffling both him and Mitsuki, who spots the Kāma flaring on his hand. Since the mark had only ever surfaced in combat or near Kawaki, they sense trouble. At the Uzumaki home, Kawaki hunts for a missing shard of the vase he broke, dismissing Naruto's insistence that it is basically repaired. Elsewhere, Inojin and Shikadai weigh whether Kawaki can be trusted, Sakura buys flowers from Ino who guesses Sasuke is returning, and Sarada questions her mother about the seal on her brow and Creation Rebirth. Koji keeps watch through his toad's eyes, puzzled that Jigen has stayed idle despite knowing Boruto carries a Kāma.

Kawaki's mark abruptly erupts, opening a rift through which Jigen steps. Koji incinerates his own toad the instant Jigen notices it, realizing he was the one being studied all along. Ino senses a sinister chakra beside Naruto and warns him telepathically. Jigen states he wants no fight, only to take Kawaki back, yet Naruto's charge is answered with a kick and four rods that stake him down and siphon his chakra. Kawaki demands his Kāma be removed. Prodded by Kurama, Naruto powers into his chakra mode as Jigen belittles the boy, insisting he alone acts in Kawaki's interest. Enraged on Naruto's behalf, Kawaki's Kāma spreads until a horn juts from his head, startling Jigen. Naruto boots Jigen aside and checks on Kawaki, rejecting the man's cruelty, while Jigen rises with fresh resolve to wipe Naruto out and floods his own body with his Kāma.
