Chapter 14 of the Boruto manga sends Boruto against the shape-shifting bandit Shojoji, whose speed and hunger make him hard to pin down. Ordinary attacks glance off the man's wind barrier, so it takes Tentō's timely shuriken and a hidden Rasengan to finally bring Shojoji down.

Summary

Realizing that the boy in front of him is the son of the Seventh Hokage, Shojoji orders his Mujina Bandits to swarm Boruto. The young shinobi cuts through every underling with ease, which leaves their leader no choice but to step in personally. When Shojoji lunges, Tentō shouts a warning to Boruto about the risk of being swallowed. The odd caution nearly costs Boruto, as Shojoji's misleading quickness almost catches him off guard. Springing into the air, Boruto barely escapes being devoured and starts to doubt that his enemy is even human.

Key Events

Pressing forward, Shojoji faces Boruto's Uchiha Style Shurikenjutsu: Lightning: Triple, only to swat it aside with a Wind Release barrier he calls the Shield of the Wind Count. A Rasengan meets the same fate, so Boruto drops a smoke bomb and hides within it, sending in shadow clones to strike from a blind spot Shojoji cannot track.

Notes

Boruto is caught all the same, and as Shojoji moves to snap his neck, Tentō rushes in and pelts the bandit with a shuriken. That brief distraction gives Boruto the opening he needs to land a finishing Rasengan and put Shojoji down. The chapter comes from the Mujina Bandits Arc of the Boruto manga.
