With the Kage Summit over, Team 7 takes charge of Sasuke while Kisame survives hidden inside Samehada and Kabuto sets his own scheme in motion, tightening threads toward the coming war.
Sakura and Kakashi agree to Naruto's plea that they take responsibility for Sasuke. Kakashi attempts to catch Tobi in Kamui and eliminate one danger on the spot, but Tobi assures him the effort is pointless. Once Tobi departs with him, Sasuke asks for Itachi's eyes, which he believes he needs to restore his fading vision and finally strike down Naruto, the only way left to prove his rival wrong.
The remaining members of Team 7 retrieve Karin and set out for Konoha. In the meantime, Killer B rejoins the Fourth Raikage in Kumogakure, carrying Samehada as a trophy from his duel with Kisame. What none of them realize is that Kisame is concealed inside the sword itself, having staged his own death with Zetsu's assistance. Elsewhere, Kabuto, now comfortable wielding Orochimaru's abilities, cuts down three Taki shinobi and resolves to begin acting on his plans.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
Chapter 487 belongs to the Fourth Shinobi World War: Countdown arc and carries the same title as the far earlier chapter 181. It plants several key threads, Kisame's infiltration and Kabuto's independent maneuvering, that pay off as the war approaches.
In chapter 487, Sakura Haruno and Kakashi Hatake agree to take responsibility for Sasuke Uchiha, while Kakashi's attempt to trap Tobi with Kamui fails. Sasuke asks Tobi for Itachi Uchiha's eyes, and elsewhere Kisame Hoshigaki is revealed to be hidden inside Samehada while Kabuto Yakushi begins acting on his own plans.
Sasuke Uchiha asks Tobi for Itachi Uchiha's eyes because he believes he needs them to restore his own fading vision, which he sees as necessary to finally defeat Naruto Uzumaki and prove him wrong.
Kisame Hoshigaki survives by hiding inside his sword Samehada, having staged his own death with Zetsu's help, while Killer B carries the sword back to Kumogakure as a trophy without realizing Kisame is concealed within it.
Kabuto Yakushi, now confidently wielding Orochimaru's abilities, cuts down three Taki shinobi in this chapter and resolves to start acting on his own independent plans.
Chapter 487 belongs to the Fourth Shinobi World War: Countdown arc and shares its English and Japanese title with the much earlier chapter 181, both titled "The Beginning of the Battle…!!"
