Summary

Madara steps back through the rift from the other dimension having recovered his lost Rinnegan. When Naruto calls out to Obito, Black Zetsu announces that it has claimed the Uchiha's body as its own and dismisses Obito's wish for Naruto to prevail as naive. Sakura, ashamed of how often she has stood on the sidelines, decides to open a gap for her allies by channeling her Strength of a Hundred technique and charging Madara directly, only for an unseen barrier to swat her attack aside.

Key Events

Naruto and Sasuke pull Sakura to safety, and Sasuke works out that Madara is now controlling four shadows after his own strike proves useless. Madara presses the attack with several Chibaku Tensei, trying to bury his foes under falling rock. The pair answer with a Tailed Beast Ball Rasenshuriken and a Complete Body Susanoo while shadow clones tie up the invisible shadows. Even so, Madara reaches his goal, drifting close enough to the moon to bare a third eye upon his forehead, an eye that mirrors Kaguya's own.

Notes

Facing the moon, Madara triggers the Infinite Tsukuyomi, casting the dojutsu's reflection across its surface. The chapter is part of the Birth of the Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki arc in the seventieth volume. A colored edition ran with the digital release of the magazine issue that first carried it, and in that version the moon reflects four tomoe rather than three on its outer ring.
