Chapter 406 turns to the aftermath of Jiraiya's death, as Konoha's codebreakers realise only Naruto can unlock the coded message the Toad Sage left behind, and Shikamaru works to pull his grieving friend out of despair.
The Amegakure prisoner Jiraiya seized is handed to Ibiki for questioning, while Shizune takes charge of examining the captured Pain. Hoping to read the Sage's final coded message, Shikamaru brings it to Konoha's Cryptanalysis Team, who determine that the cipher cannot be cracked without a key only someone genuinely close to Jiraiya would recognise.
Once the search narrows, it becomes clear that Naruto is the single person who might supply that key. Still crushed by his master's death, though, he cannot bring himself to concentrate on the puzzle.
Shikamaru takes him along on a visit to the pregnant Kurenai and reminds Naruto that he too has buried a teacher in Asuma. Grief cannot be allowed to stall them, he argues, because their duty is to grow into shinobi worthy of the masters they lost. The words begin to steady Naruto and pull him back toward the task at hand.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
