Summary

Naruto orders Orochimaru to give Sasuke back, and the Sannin coolly invites him to try taking the boy by force. A single tail of the fox's chakra flares around Naruto as he charges, hurling Orochimaru back among the trees. The sight jars loose Yamato's memory of a briefing he received in the village about these very transformations.

Because reaching nine would set the beast loose, Yamato has been tasked with stopping that from ever happening. Returning to the clash, Orochimaru muses that the Leaf ought to thank him for gifting Yamato his Wood Release, and hints at wanting to study both the man and how this Naruto measures against his own Sasuke.
