Summary

Jiraiya's questioning of the captured Rain shinobi produces nothing, the man staying devoted to Pain to the very end. Instead of forcing the issue, the sage steps back, quietly moved by such loyalty. Key Events

From inside his own body Jiraiya draws out Gerotora, the toad who keeps safe the key controlling the Nine-Tails' seal. He asks the toad to take shelter within Naruto if he fails to come back. Gerotora balks, doubting the wisdom of granting the boy that kind of power. Jiraiya refuses to be swayed, certain that Minato meant for his son to one day bend the fox to his will, quite possibly as a weapon to use against Tobi.
