Kame Kame no Mi

A Zoan-class power belongs here, one that hands its eater the option of a turtle hybrid shape or a complete turtle, switched at will. The label springs from kame, simply the Japanese term for turtle, and localizations render it as the Turtle-Turtle Fruit. Pekoms of the Big Mom Pirates is the owner. Audiences glimpsed the power during the arc set on Fish-Man Island, though its actual name stayed hidden until the events of Zou, and it holds the distinction of being the first canon Zoan revealed once the story's time skip had passed.

Once the change kicks in, a shell forms that Pekoms rates as tough as diamond, sturdy enough to turn aside gunfire and to hold up under a building crashing down. Several costs come attached, however. A turtle moves sluggishly, the shift peels the user's garments away as the body draws into its shell, and offensively the fruit provides next to nothing. Because of that, Pekoms leans on it as armor rather than a means of attack, and the vulnerabilities common to every Devil Fruit remain in force.

As the only wielder, Pekoms curls into his turtle form the instant a blow is incoming, sheltering behind the shell and then tugging his clothes back on after reverting. His reflexes were sharp enough to complete the transformation and deflect the bulk of Capone Bege's gunshots. Since attacking power is not what the fruit supplies, he rounds out his fighting with separate skills, drawing on martial arts and the Mink tribe's Electro.
