Aladine

Aladine stands tall and heavily muscled, with thin slanted eyes and dark hair gathered into a lengthy ponytail that winds down his back. A matching beard and goatee frame his face. The upper part of his long tail is a pale brown, growing darker toward the fins, where spots emerge before the color deepens fully. Across his back hangs an open dark vest carrying his crew's emblem, and a trident rests there too, held by a belt that crosses from his left shoulder. The marking 1TC sits on his left bicep, while the crew tattoo on the left of his abdomen conceals the brand left from his time in bondage.

Years later he looks noticeably older. Faint lines mark his eyes and mouth, a scar crosses his brow, and his beard has lengthened to reach his chest. He adds a thick hoop to each ear, wears a vest of fancier make, and lets a pale captain's coat hang from his shoulders.

Composed and even-tempered, Aladine carries the perspective of someone who once lived in chains, which lets him grasp what a newly freed captive endures. That same history did not stop him from setting his own pain aside to treat the wounds of the World Noble Mjosgard, a kindness he extended only because Otohime asked it of him.

Aladine once served as a soldier of the Ryugu Kingdom before capture left him sold into slavery. Fisher Tiger eventually liberated him, and he signed on with the Sun Pirates, where his medical training made him the crew doctor. He tended the gravely hurt Tiger after a Marine ambush near Foolshout Island, and when the captain died, he vowed that Tiger would always be remembered as a hero who freed the enslaved.

Once Arlong was taken into custody, Aladine fell under Jinbe's leadership and stayed at his side as the crew divided. He returned to Fish-Man Island after Jinbe joined the Seven Warlords, and there he treated Mjosgard along with the injured Otohime, later mourning at her funeral. When Jinbe gave up his Warlord rank, the Sun Pirates began operating beneath the Emperor Big Mom, and Aladine wed her twenty-first daughter, Charlotte Praline, to seal the bond between the two crews. By then he had risen to first mate, ranking just under Jinbe.

During the upheaval at Whole Cake Island, Aladine supported Jinbe's choice to break from Big Mom and ally with Luffy. He guided the Sun Pirates in shielding the Thousand Sunny near Cacao Island, directing Wadatsumi to swap vessels and carry the ship clear, and traded blows with Charlotte Oven, drawing on his Fish-Man Karate, before Jinbe joined him. The crew secured the Straw Hats' escape just as Big Mom reached Cacao Island.
