Appearance
Little concrete detail survives about how Billy looks. The accounts describe an enormous figure, his bulk likened to that of a bear.
Personality
Arrogance defines him, and he loved to crow about having split a killer whale with his blade. A cruel streak runs alongside the bragging, shown when he laughed at the thought of his men running Tashigi through.
Abilities
Most of what Billy could actually do remains unrecorded, leaving only his own boast that he once cleaved an orca clean in two. He carried Yamaoroshi, one of the fifty Skillful Grade blades, until Tashigi relieved him of it. The epithet Orca Killer traces back to that supposed feat from his past.
In the Loguetown novel, Billy was drinking with his crew when Tashigi led a band of Marines in to arrest him. He blustered about his strength and sent his subordinates to mob her, then reeled when she cut through them. Charging in himself, he was redirected into a wall by his own momentum and struck from behind, collapsing under a blow to his left side. He shook off the Marines binding him and rose again, spotting Tashigi groping for her dropped glasses and rushing to kill her, but Smoker hoisted him into the air, scolded Tashigi for the sloppy takedown, and knocked him cold with a smoke-clad fist. Captured at last, Billy was hauled off to prison.
