Appearance

In old age Buckin is a tiny, elderly blonde who is, at 68 cm, the shortest grown human yet seen in the series. Her shirt bears a skull emblem echoing the Whitebeard banner, only with pigtails added and the crossbones removed, and she rounds out the look with sunglasses, a green hat, and a leopard-print vest. As a young pirate she was the spitting image of her later clone: a striking, taller-than-average woman with curly blonde hair worn short, red lipstick, and a curvy frame. Her outfits shifted across the decades, from suspenders and a coat draped over the shoulders at 28, to a cloche hat by 34, to a ruffled white dress with cape, plumed hat, fishnets, and a garter belt at 38. Her MADS years saw her in a light hat, a shoulder-slung coat, and black stockings.

Personality

Convinced she was Whitebeard's one true love, Buckin insists that she and her son are owed his fortune, a delusion that drives her greed and her gift for manipulation. To her, money outweighs everything, and she dismisses revenge as pointless because it turns no profit, steering Weevil away from his own wishes and toward chasing the supposed inheritance. Marco has confirmed the hunt is hopeless, since Whitebeard always funneled his share back to his hometown. Within MADS she contributed almost nothing, leeching off the work of others. For all her flaws, her love for Weevil is genuine, and she wept with pride when he selflessly defended Sphinx and broke down when he was hauled off by the Marines. In her pirate youth she was polite and refined against her rowdy crewmates, though quick to turn violent, loyal to Xebec only for the profit she expected, and vain about her own popularity.

History

Born on the Grand Line, Buckin lost a Davy Back Fight over 48 years ago and was picked out by Rocks D. Xebec to join him, becoming one of the first recruits before the Rocks Pirates formally existed. She traveled with Xebec, Whitebeard, Shiki, and others to Elbaph, where King Harald warned the group that backing Rocks would invite disaster, a warning she shrugged off in hope of gain. The crew seized Hachinosu and converted it into a pirate haven, raided the Foot Colony temple, and pressed Rocks's campaign against the World Government. Across these years Buckin nursed a one-sided obsession with Whitebeard, who flatly rejected her advances and infuriated her, especially once his affection turned toward the kidnapped Shakuyaku. When Shakky was held as a prize during the World Nobles' hunting competition on God Valley, the Rocks Pirates invaded to recover her. In the chaos Buckin fought rival pirates and Marines, but Rayleigh reached Shakky first, and after Rocks's death the crew scattered with their plunder.

Buckin later styled herself a scientist and freeloaded within MADS, which cloned her 36 years ago to create Stussy, a woman who would serve in CP0. A year afterward she gave birth to Edward Weevil. By the time of the story she and Weevil were hunting the scattered Whitebeard Pirates, scolding her son for wanting to target Blackbeard instead and resolving to track Luffy down for leads on Marco. After the Warlord system was abolished, the Marines came for them and Buckin told Weevil to fight. The pair defended Sphinx from Marines seeking Whitebeard's treasure until Admiral Ryokugyu arrived, overpowered Weevil, and carried him off to prison, leaving Buckin shattered. When Marco returned to Sphinx, she demanded he free her son and surrender the fortune, declaring that Vegapunk could vouch for Weevil's bloodline.
