Edward Weevil, who styles himself Whitebeard Jr., is a pirate insisting he is the late Whitebeard's blood son, born to Buckingham Stussy. Recruited into the Seven Warlords of the Sea during the timeskip, he wields a naginata and held the highest former bounty of any Warlord before the system was scrapped.
Weevil has a stocky build marked by noticeable scars: one runs from his left eye, another crosses his neck, and a third wraps his left arm. His blond hair is bushy, with a braid hanging on each side of his face, and like the man he claims as his father he sports a black bandanna and a white crescent mustache, though his is even thinner and longer than Newgate's. His legs look strikingly small against his bulky frame, and his bandaged nose seems forever runny, hinting at his simple nature. Rather than straps, chains hold up the overalls that carry his personal Jolly Roger. Viewed from behind, his huge body, thick mane, and horn-like mustache make him resemble Oars or Little Oars Jr.
Weevil is a brutal man who leaves ruin behind him while hunting down Whitebeard's former crew and allies. Far from clever, he once struggled to tell a mirror apart from a photograph of Whitebeard, and his mother easily manipulates him into believing he is the rightful heir to the Whitebeard Pirates' fortune. He speaks in a whiny, snot-nosed way that makes him sound childish and dim, yet he genuinely accepts his own claims as fact. To him, blood alone defines family, not the bonds of friendship his alleged father prized, which is why he assaults so many of Whitebeard's associates. Even so, he shows a streak of honor, defending Whitebeard's hometown of Sphinx. He nurses grudges as well, having wanted to avenge his supposed father against Blackbeard until his mother talked him out of it.
Weevil was born thirty-five years ago in the Grand Line to Buckingham Stussy, and together they put forward the heavily doubted claim that Edward Newgate fathered him. He entered the Seven Warlords of the Sea during the timeskip after carrying a bounty of four hundred and eighty million berries, and in that span he crushed crew after crew of Whitebeard's old allies, sixteen in all including the A O Pirates, to seize the fortune his mother promised him. Borsalino likened his raw power to a young Whitebeard, and he fights with a naginata resembling Newgate's Murakumogiri while commanding both Armament and Observation Haki. After defeating A O, he is steered by his mother toward locating Marco rather than avenging Whitebeard on Blackbeard, and news of the Straw Hats toppling Doflamingo leaves him weighing whether to pursue Luffy for information. Once the Levely dissolves the Warlord system, the Marines turn on him; with his mother's blessing he wipes out the forces sent to arrest him. While Marco is away aiding the alliance in Wano, Weevil arrives at Sphinx to shield it, swiftly beating the corrupt officer Ratel. The reinforcements that answer come in the form of Admiral Ryokugyu, who overpowers Weevil and hauls him away as a prisoner, though Weevil at least survives the encounter, much to his mother's dismay.
