Bulldog

Wrinkles and a thin grey beard mark Bulldog as a man well into old age, his height landing somewhere in the ordinary range. The hair atop his head is cropped and grey to match. For clothing he favors a feathered blue coat over a white V-neck, paired with dark trousers and brown boots, while a white ushanka trimmed in yellow at the ear flaps sits on his head. The likeness to the breed that shares his name is intentional.

Gentle and fair-minded, Bulldog enjoys particular fondness among Sorbet's older population. A sharp mind backs that kindness: by piecing together press reports and gathered intelligence, he was able to read Bekori's intentions and forecast where the man would move next.

Bulldog occupied the Sorbet throne until a quarter century ago, when Bekori took over from him, and the citizens long remembered him as an even-handed leader. Roughly six years before the present, Kuma's Solo Revolution handed Bulldog real control of the country once more; the crown formally rested on Kuma, but he ruled in name only and leaned on Bulldog's political experience to actually run things.

Later, as newspapers spread the lie that Kuma had taken power through brutality, Bulldog and his mother Conney came to Kuma's church. He cautioned Kuma that remaining in Sorbet had grown dangerous, since Bekori might come back to seize the throne with the World Government behind him. Kuma then placed both the kingdom and Bonney in Bulldog's hands before departing.
