Dobon

Towering and broad, Dobon keeps his brown hair cropped into short spikes and carries a hippopotamus snout across his face. A pale yellow bowler tops his head, and crimson lenses shade his eyes. He goes shirtless, his oversized light blue trousers held aloft by a pair of violet suspenders. Brown gloves and brown boots, a frilly shoulder wrap decorated with hippo feet, and flame-shaped ink near each wrist round out the look. The SMILE he ate fused the lower half of his legs to the bottom jaw of a huge pink hippopotamus, so that he effectively rides within the beast's open mouth; his own legs serve as its forelimbs, leaving the creature with only hind legs, and it wears belted dark trousers over its rear.

Greed and self-interest drive Dobon. He flew into a rage at Luffy and Eustass Kid for draining the mine's kibi dango stock, ignoring that the two had honestly earned the rations through their work, and he readily abused his post to withhold what they were owed. His cruelty toward the inmates ran casual and constant, plainly shown when he ground Grandpa Hyo beneath his foot.

As a Shinuchi, Dobon held a senior rank within the Beasts Pirates with sway over lesser members, and his post as vice warden handed him free rein over the mine's inmates. His artificial Zoan fruit lets the hippo's cavernous mouth engulf him along with several others at once, a tactic his subordinates named the Slaughter Room, where he finishes captives with a pair of daggers; the beast carries a will of its own, though, and now and then clamps shut without warning, sealing him off from everyone nearby. Enraged to find the kibi dango stores down to only three remaining pieces, he demanded the culprits while stamping on Hyo. His underlings tried to explain that the inmates had earned the food, but his hippo snapped its jaws over his words. Luffy and Kid were then hauled before him, and as he readied his Slaughter Room to discipline them, the pair battered both him and the hippo senseless from inside its mouth. He crashed to the ground, and though execution was threatened, not one inmate would testify against the pair.
