The Doom Guardian is a non-canon armored construct from the Unlimited Cruise games, forged by the Great Tree out of the creature Gaburi. Built to wipe out the Straw Hat Pirates, it later evolves into the stronger Demon of Doom.
Closely echoing the Evil Guardian in both bulk and stature, the Doom Guardian has grayish-white skin sheathed in ornate gilded armor. Glowing veins of blue, red, and purple trace its muscles, five golden discs sit across its chest, and plated armor runs the length of its spine. Its forearms end in detailed gauntlets, a dark cyan belt wraps its waist beneath a blue loincloth, and a horned golden helmet crowned by a red mohawk hides everything but two purple eyes. The left shoulder holds a large purple orb that contains Gaburi himself, ringed by floating stone segments. Once separated from Gaburi, that orb is swapped for a seed-like sphere and the armor darkens.
The evolved Demon of Doom is leaner yet still tall, with long arms, oversized hands, and two-toed feet. Almost its entire frame becomes a lattice of red, blue, and purple veins studded with scattered fragments of its old armor, while its head turns wholly black, wreathed in smoke and showing only two glowing purple eyes.
The construct possesses virtually no will of its own, behaving as a mindless instrument of the Great Tree. Because it was born from her terror of the darkness she glimpsed in human memories, notably Blackbeard's, it fixates on destroying what it labels evil, a category that to it means all of humanity. It narrates its own functions in a flat, computer-like manner and shows discomfort only when physically hurt. Left without Gaburi or the Great Tree to steer it, the Doom Guardian slips into a berserk rampage.
Enormous strength lets the Doom Guardian fling people into the ground and swing its massive maul with ease, and despite its size it can dash steadily after fleeing foes. It generates destructive purple energy for homing orbs, ground-erupting columns, beams, and wide blasts, and it can summon its hammer from thin air. Its signature trait is regeneration: no matter how thoroughly it is beaten, it restores itself to full fighting form within seconds, making it nearly impossible to put down for good.
After evolving into the Demon of Doom, its speed climbs to superhuman levels resembling Soru, its agility and durability surge, and its energy grows darker and denser. In this state it mimics the techniques of the Straw Hats and the many fighters they have met, conjuring perfect copies of their weapons at will. Its borrowed arsenal spans Zoro's swords, Sanji's kicks, Luffy's stretching strikes, Usopp's explosives, Nami's Clima-Tact, and powerful copies of attacks from the likes of Crocodile, Enel, Aokiji, Ace, and Blackbeard.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
