Few Elbaph giants carry the renown of the Blue Ogre. Dorry shares the helm of the Giant Warrior Pirates with his closest friend Brogy, and a trivial quarrel between the two set off a duel on Little Garden that dragged on for a full century until the Straw Hat Pirates turned up to break it.
Towering at 22.6 meters, Dorry edges out Brogy in height, a muscular giant whose long beard and dark-grey mane reach the leather belt circling his waist. He dresses in viking fashion: a horned helmet with an eye guard, a navy cape, grey-green trousers, and a furred white wrap held at his middle, finished off with fur-trimmed boots. Now 160 and squarely in his prime by giant standards, he ranks as Elbaph's fourth-tallest living giant after Loki, Jarul, and Road. Being remade into a demon later on swelled his frame larger still.
At his core Dorry is warm-hearted, though pride can occasionally cloud his sense. He keeps his homeland's customs with stubborn honor, holding to them even when badly hurt, and he prizes friendship above much else. That loyalty led him to back Shanks against the Kid Pirates and to travel from Elbaph all the way to Egghead so he could help Luffy escape the World Government. He welcomes strangers freely, embracing Straw Hats he had never met simply for sailing under Luffy. His pride cuts both ways: it pushed him to wrongly accuse Luffy of spiking his drink, yet it also let him brush off seeing his bounty multiply a hundredfold. Once Imu warped him into a demon, that gentleness curdled into a savage, primal joy. As with many across the world, his laugh has its own ring, opening on "Gegya."
This giant entered the world on Elbaph a century and a half ago, growing up beside Brogy and a young Harald, the future king of the island. The two friends came to lead the Giant Warrior Pirates, reckoned one of the most fearsome crews anywhere. Their days at sea closed about a hundred years back over a question of honor: a small girl asked which of them had landed the bigger fish, and to decide it they retreated to the remote isle of Little Garden, where the duel stretched on for a century. Around that time he also met the Roger Pirates and grew close to Shanks.
When the Straw Hats arrived at Little Garden, Dorry warmed to Luffy at once, until a barrel of rum blew up inside his belly and he pinned the sabotage on the crew. Luffy overpowered him and cleared their name, yet Dorry still went off to face Brogy and lost the match because of Mr. 3's interference. He pulled through, reunited with his friend, and saw the Straw Hats off with a roaring farewell. Two years on, he and Brogy headed for Egghead to rescue Luffy, sinking the Kid Pirates' Victoria Punk with Hakoku before tangling with the Five Elders and slipping away. Back home on Elbaph, Imu turned him into a demon and ordered him to kill the elder Jarul, but he and Brogy shattered the curse by beheading each other in combat, which restored them and set them against their captor.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Dorry grew close to Shanks after meeting the Roger Pirates decades earlier, and he later backed Shanks against the Kid Pirates. Dorry and his friend Brogy count Shanks among their allies.
Dorry is 158 years old at his debut and 160 after the timeskip, making him one of Elbaph's oldest and fourth-tallest living giants.
Imu turned Dorry into a demon and ordered him to kill the elder Jarul. Dorry and Brogy broke the curse by beheading each other in combat, which restored them and turned them against Imu.
Dorry carries a bounty of 1,800,000,000 berries and ranks as Elbaph's fourth-tallest living giant. He and Brogy sank the Kid Pirates' ship Victoria Punk with their Hakoku technique and even tangled with the Five Elders before slipping away.
Dorry and Brogy's duel over whose fish was bigger dragged on for a full century on the isle of Little Garden, ending only when the Straw Hat Pirates arrived.
