Elizabello II, nicknamed the Fighting King, rules the Prodence Kingdom and entered the Corrida Colosseum as a gladiator chasing the Mera Mera no Mi. Famed for a single ruinous punch, he stands with Luffy across the Dressrosa Arc, fighting above all to shield his people.
Tall and heavily muscled up top, Elizabello has a sparse beard, a jutting chin, and blonde hair combed flat against his head. By contrast his legs and lower half look strangely thin against that bulk. A weighty golden crown of thick crosses on a studded ring sits atop his head, a fur-collared checkered cape hangs from his shoulders, and gold boxing gloves go on whenever he enters the ring.
Combat is this king's joy, which is how the Fighting King title stuck to him. Pride borders on arrogance in his manner: he once insisted that the ring of fighters guarding him in the colosseum was there to spare his rivals from his blow rather than the reverse, a claim his power made entirely plausible. Slights rankle him, whether Zoro forgetting his kingdom's name or his mightiest strike being wasted on clearing debris. For all the bluster, he trains without end so he can defend his subjects and hopes to build warm relations with other nations, and his keen sense of honor pushes him to repay debts, as when he chose to take on Doflamingo for the sake of Riku Doldo III and Usopp.
Reigning over the Prodence Kingdom in the New World, Elizabello is a longstanding companion of Riku Doldo III, who once held the Dressrosa throne and whose realm the king had aided many times. His fame rests on the King Punch, a concentrated blow that unleashes enough air pressure to breach a fortress wall, rumored even to rival one of the Four Emperors. The price is steep: a full hour of warm-up is needed, the strike can land only once per hour, and his guards must protect him while he charges, though a weaker uncharged form exists too.
He came to Dressrosa with his tactician Dagama to win the Mera Mera no Mi for his country and was placed in B Block. His allies shielded him as he readied his trump card; once most rivals had dropped and even Dagama was beaten, he finally released the King Punch and wiped out everyone else left in the ring. Only Bartolomeo endured behind a barrier and then knocked the king out to take the block. Tossed into an underground cell among discarded toys, he rejoiced to find Ricky was actually Riku Doldo III, before Sugar's curse briefly turned him into a toy until her collapse changed him back.
When Doflamingo sealed the island inside his Birdcage, Elizabello rejoined the fight, siding with Luffy, Zoro, and Law to honor his debt to King Riku. He and Chinjao smashed the stone arm of Pica's giant golem as the colosseum fighters cut through the Donquixote forces. Later he spent his King Punch merely to scatter falling rubble after Zoro brought Pica down, grumbling at the waste before letting it pass since Riku was safe. As the Birdcage shrank he revived fallen comrades and helped push the cage back, and once Luffy beat Doflamingo he urged Doldo to reclaim the crown before heading home. He afterward journeyed with Doldo to the Levely, and during Vegapunk's broadcast the destruction of the Lulusia Kingdom stunned him into ordering Dagama to look into it at once.
