Ganryu rode with the Roger Pirates right up to the day the crew broke apart. A loyal and sharp-eyed fighter who battled with spiked gloves, he sailed alongside Roger all the way to Laugh Tale, and what became of him after the disbandment is left unknown.
Tall and muscular, Ganryu has wide shoulders set above slender legs and a narrow nose. Three spikes run down the middle of his dark hair, framed by a sharp widow's peak. A three-pronged goatee meets a mustache that flows into his sideburns. A dark coat covers him, cinched by a pale belt around the waist, with light-colored trousers and dark boots whose toes curl upward at the tips.
Loyalty to his captain and crewmates defines Ganryu, who threw himself into their battles at their side. He is also quite perceptive: when Kouzuki Oden grew uneasy while sensing the Road Poneglyph on Zou, Ganryu caught the change and offered to let him return to their vessel should he feel unwell.

Once Oden joined, Ganryu traveled with the crew to Fish-Man Island, Skypiea, Wano, Water 7, Zou, and at last Laugh Tale, where they laughed at the treasure Joy Boy had left behind. After Roger named the island and the pirates returned Oden to Wano, the crew tearfully parted ways and disbanded; Ganryu's fate from there is unknown.
