Headband Catfish Village Elder

The Elder is an elderly catfish marked by a sagging face, a lengthy beard, and heavy eyebrows. Matching the rest of his community, he dresses in a carpenter's happi coat and ties a rope band around his head.

Deeply devoted to his community, the Elder was heartbroken when a sunken ship wrecked it. Warm and encouraging toward his famished villagers, he put their needs ahead of his own; when Hatchan offered takoyaki, the Elder made certain everyone else was fed before he took any for himself.

Sharing the trade of everyone in his village, the Elder is an accomplished carpenter, and together his people managed to construct the Takoyaki 8 in a single night. After a sunken ship demolished the Headband Catfish Village, he looked on while Octopako jeered at them. As Hatchan, Camie, and Pappag passed through, the Elder soothed a small, hungry catfish and kept comforting the child while Hatchan rushed off with his treasure to buy cooking gear. Once Hatchan and Camie had prepared takoyaki and handed it out, the Elder rose to the surface last and gladly finished off the final portion. To repay Hatchan and his companions, the Elder and his villagers assembled the Takoyaki 8 overnight and launched the vessel on its first voyage.
