Appearance

Hockera is styled after a hockey player, kitted out in athletic gear and a yellow ascot cap. An orange shirt sits under a red tie that echoes his father's. His stick is colored red at the tip and yellow along the taper, with a spiked-collar-like ornament fixed where the shaft meets the tape.

Personality

A verbal tic has him capping his sentences with ke, and he peppers his speech with gaming vocabulary, calling Time when he wants someone to hold on and Game Over when he appears beaten. His laugh, a drawn-out Hoh ke ke ke, practically spells out the word hockey. Beneath the goofy surface sits a schemer who deliberately acts more foolish than he is, lulling stronger opponents into dropping their guard so he can get the better of them in a fight.

History

In combat Hockera turns his hockey talent to deadly use, firing specialized pucks that freeze whatever they strike, and he shrugs off punishing hits with surprising toughness while dodging Franky's gunfire with ease. His signature move, the Ice Puck Samidare Uchigeki, rains a flurry of freezing pucks at a target, though Chopper slipped it in his Guard Point form. During the Ice Hunter Arc he and his relatives left Don Accino's birthday celebration on Lovely Land to claim the Straw Hats' ship, the Thousand Sunny, after it became trapped among the icebergs of Hyokaido, only for the crew to slip away. Once his sister Lil arranged for the pirate flag to be stolen, Hockera went off alone and stumbled on the grounded Shark Submerge, peppering its passengers with pucks. He toyed with Nami and Franky by feigning stupidity, then traded blows with Franky, icing the cyborg's legs and weaving through cannon fire amid the flying debris. Disarmed and seemingly knocked out, he had in fact been targeting the submarine all along; the pucks pinned it in place, sealing Franky and Nami inside, and he hauled the frozen sub back to Lovely Land, dressing it up with a pink birthday bow. He locked the captives in an ice vault and foiled Sanji's escape leap, then rushed off to soothe an enraged Don Accino, dropping Zoro through a trapdoor and waving the stolen flag to placate his father. Later he took on Chopper and Jiro, but his pucks could not so much as scratch Chopper's Guard Point, and after Jiro pelted him with ice the reindeer crushed him flat. Summoning Domo Penguins for backup, he turned them loose on Puzzle and the Phoenix Pirates before Puzzle's chain drove them off, and Franky finished him on the spot with Fresh Fire. He nonetheless survived Hyokaido melting away and joined his family in presenting their battered father with his birthday cake.
