Ideaman

Of ordinary build with tanned skin, Ideaman is most recognizable for the spiky purple hair atop his head, which ends in a tiny oil lamp that dangles like the lure of an anglerfish. A striped shirt in orange and black completes his look. The little lamp is widely read as a nod to the lightbulb that signals a sudden idea in Western cartoons.

What little is shown of him suggests genuine concern for his fellow crew members. He reacted with visible worry when Pearl was knocked off his feet by the recoil of one of Luffy's blows. His title as Staff Officer of Planning also points to a talent for strategy.

After enlisting with the Krieg Pirates and earning the role of Staff Officer of Planning, Ideaman sailed with the crew on their attempt to seize the Grand Line. The venture collapsed on the seventh day when Dracule Mihawk tore through the fleet. A storm spared the flagship Dreadnaught Sabre from destruction, letting roughly a hundred survivors limp back to the East Blue, though all of them, Ideaman included, were left half-dead from starvation. He next surfaced during the duel between Sanji and Pearl at the Baratie, and once Krieg was beaten, he was among the crew Gin led away from the floating restaurant. In the live-action adaptation his fate differs, as he is killed by Mihawk's assault and never reaches the Baratie at all.
