Appearance

Matching his fellow Numbers, Inbi reaches a colossal height that overtops even ordinary giants and approaches the scale of an ancient giant. His design borrows heavily from popular images of Satan: pointed ears, a handlebar-style mustache, dark hair the anime recolors blonde, a sharp widow's peak, plus horns that curve upward starting from a point above each ear. A menacing look frequently crosses his face, and like Kunyun his mostly even teeth include two sharp canines. His outfit features a pale shirt rendered dark blue in the anime, dark trousers, small ring earrings, tall cuffed boots, and a Shimenawa-style rope worn as a belt, while his fingers end in sharp dark nails. His chest bears the daiji character for one, inked onto its right side. The anime gives him brown skin with purple horns and nails.

Personality

Drinking is a shared trait among the Numbers, and the row of sake jars at Inbi's side bears that out. He differs in handling it better, raising a cup instead of a whole barrel and never appearing drunk, which hints at steadier habits than his peers. His name also feeds a distinctive laugh, written as "Ibibibibibi." His combat capabilities remain unseen, but being a manufactured ancient giant, he is presumed to wield tremendous power.

History

In years past, Inbi figured among the Punk Hazard test subjects in an attempt to manufacture ancient giants. That project was judged a failure, and the surviving subjects, Inbi included, were later purchased by Kaidou, came to be called the Numbers, and took up residence on Onigashima. Ahead of the Fire Festival by five days, the Numbers reached Hakumai through Mogura Harbor and traveled toward Onigashima alongside Scratchmen Apoo. Inbi was sharing food and drink inside a Skull Dome chamber alongside fellow Numbers Fuga and Zanki, sitting out the war between the Beasts Pirates and the allied forces, until Apoo and X Drake entered the room. While those two clashed, Inbi stayed seated, and after Yamato passed through, Apoo gave chase and told Inbi and Zanki to follow. Once Apoo and Drake ran into the CP0 during the pursuit, Apoo broke off and fled with Inbi to the second basement floor. Trapped there by fire, Inbi tried to smash through a wall but burned his hand on the scorching surface; Apoo berated him and pressed him to give up his arm, leaving Inbi irritated enough that Apoo asked if he wanted a fight. The flooding carried out by Raizo and Jinbe spared them from the flames. A week past the Onigashima raid, Apoo and Inbi rejoined the pirates repairing their vessels at Tokage Port.
