Captain of the Bonney Pirates and the lone woman counted among the Worst Generation, Jewelry Bonney wields the Toshi Toshi no Mi to shift ages at will, often posing as a grown woman though she is truly a child. Raised by Bartholomew Kuma, she sails the seas chasing a reunion with the father she adores.
Though she devours staggering quantities of food, Bonney keeps a slender build, fitting for a twelve-year-old girl. Her hair falls long in a pale pink shade, and her eyes are brown that later turn blue, rendered purple in the animated version. The Toshi Toshi no Mi lets her shift her age whenever she pleases, so her looks are never fixed. The form she shows the public most often is that of a tall, full-figured woman somewhere in her early twenties, her features softened of their childish roundness.
For clothing she favors a low-cut white tank top paired with buckled shorts striped in orange and black, held by slim suspenders. Tall black heeled boots laced at the openings, stockings in pink and deep red marked with a yellow sun design, and bright red lipstick dabbed only at the center of her mouth round out the look. A golden mark sits beneath her right eye on the spot once covered by her Sapphire Scales, placed there in the hope that her father might know her by it. From Conney she received a brown fur jacket and a green earflapped hat, both of which she wears constantly. After the timeskip her lipstick turns pink and her top gains a frilled hem, and during the Egghead events she dons a hooded purple bodysuit.
Matching her real age, Bonney behaves much like any spirited child: lively, carefree, and naive, with a thirst for adventure and a fondness for bright things such as rainbows. Her bluntness and rough edges, sometimes called vulgar, clash with the grown woman she likes to pretend to be, yet she can prove steadier and less impulsive than certain older pirates around her. True to her nickname, she eats voraciously and with dreadful manners, demanding seconds before her plate is clear and talking through mouthfuls; pizza is her treasured favorite, a trait passed down from her mother Ginny.
A short fuse and a sharp tongue trace back to the bullying she suffered as a small child over her rare illness. Even so, she understands restraint, once staging Zoro's fake death at Sabaody to head off disaster. She nurses grudges against those who cross her, adores her father Kuma without reserve, and holds firm faith in the legend of Nika. A swarm of insects, however, terrifies her completely, and she turns vengeful toward anyone who exploits that fear.
Born to Ginny and adopted by Bartholomew Kuma, who once ruled the Sorbet Kingdom as its king, Bonney counts as that nation's onetime princess. The Sapphire Scales sickness she received from her mother confined her within the walls of Kuma's church all through her earliest years. To win her a cure, Kuma handed both his body and his will over to the World Government so that Dr. Vegapunk would treat her. Experiments that Jaygarcia Saturn, a member of the Five Elders, performed left her wielding the Toshi Toshi no Mi.
Once she was free, she set out as a pirate to track down her father, masking her true childhood behind the look of a grown woman. She carried a bounty of 140,000,000 Berries on reaching the Sabaody Archipelago, a figure later pushed to 320,000,000 two years on. During the Egghead Incident her father saved her life, and the two were at last reunited. Through the Egghead and Elbaph arcs she stands as a close companion and devoted ally to the Straw Hat Pirates.

When I first decided to commit to watching One Piece seriously, I knew I was embarking on one of anime's longest and most beloved series. With over 100...

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
Jewelry Bonney was raised by Bartholomew Kuma, and during the Egghead Incident her father saved her life, leading to their long-awaited reunion; she has since remained a close ally of the Straw Hat Pirates through the Egghead and Elbaph arcs.
Jewelry Bonney is the lone woman among the Worst Generation and captains the Bonney Pirates, and her Toshi Toshi no Mi powers came from experiments performed by Jaygarcia Saturn of the Five Elders while Dr. Vegapunk tried to cure her childhood illness.
Despite posing as a grown woman in her twenties using her Devil Fruit powers, Jewelry Bonney is actually a child, aged 10 when she debuted and 12 after the timeskip.
Jewelry Bonney ate the Toshi Toshi no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that lets her shift her own age at will.
Jewelry Bonney was adopted by Bartholomew Kuma, the former king of the Sorbet Kingdom, who gave up his body and will to the World Government so Dr. Vegapunk could try to cure her rare illness.
