Overview

The Bonney Pirates are a celebrated rookie crew hailing from the South Blue, captained by Jewelry Bonney. They reached the Sabaody Archipelago at the same moment the Straw Hat Pirates did two years prior, placing them within the Worst Generation. Their pizza-themed flag, complete with lipstick and a bite mark, mirrors Bonney's looks and her famous appetite. Their ship, coated to dive deep beneath the waves, carries the same culinary flair.

Role

The crew built its notoriety partly through assaults on Marines and partly through reports of beating the elderly and children, though most of those victims were actually targets transformed by Bonney's own powers. The bulk of their fame traces back to Bonney herself, given her steep bounty and the World Government's repeated failures to hold her. Starting as humble fishermen and crossing the Grand Line all the way to Sabaody marked them as surprisingly capable sailors, especially since they came within a hair of finding Kuma, foiled only because he deliberately dodged the reunion. Their luck ran out against the Blackbeard Pirates, who beat and chained them without difficulty.

After Blackbeard's crew captured them, Akainu hauled Bonney to Marine Headquarters, yet she managed to escape and leave her crew behind, going on alone to confront Vegapunk at Egghead over what was done to her father.
