Appearance

Kagero presents as an aged, lean figure whose bald scalp tops a slim face, a stretched chin, small ears, a long nose, and a creased brow. His gaze is sharp, and a grey mustache drapes over his mouth. He wears a brown kimono fitted with a tan chest plate that a strap secures over his right shoulder. His thin, fragile appearance is deceptive, for beneath the cloth he is tall and heavily built.

History

Kagero stood with the Kouzuki Family in earlier days, and once he heard Kouzuki Toki foretell Kurozumi Orochi's downfall and how Wano would one day open its borders, he became a priest and waited two decades for the Scabbards' return. When Momonosuke at last returned, Kagero and his fellows pledged their loyalty and offered to help stand against Orochi. Two days ahead of the Raid on Onigashima he listened as Jibuemon laid out how the allies could assemble without attracting notice.

Once the forces landed on Onigashima, Kagero put on a disguise using the Fuku Fuku no Mi and fell in with Kin'emon's eastern group. The band broke apart at a brothel, and he kept following Kin'emon over the bridge. Hearing Big Mom inside, the group dove into the water to stay hidden, all except Chopper and Usopp riding the Brachio Tank V. When Monkey D. Luffy declared open war on the Live Floor, Kagero cast off his disguise and braced himself to confront the enemy crew.
