Karin is a young giant enrolled at the Walrus School on Elbaph. A gloomy, self-described unlucky girl, she is swept up in the Knights of God's hostage scheme during the Elbaph Arc.
Karin is a girl with long, pale hair tied back into a ponytail. A noticeably long nose juts from her face, and she keeps a pair of headphones on.
Quiet and habitually scowling, Karin carries a glum view of herself, convinced that misfortune follows her. She stays remarkably composed under pressure, holding her nerve even after being abducted. Her mother notes a less flattering trait too: the girl is prone to telling lies.
Karin and her Walrus School classmates first crossed paths with the Straw Hat Pirates when the crew reached Elbaph and were welcomed by the biology teacher Ripley. The students soured on Colon when he picked a fight with Luffy. Later she sat in on Ange's lesson where the class spoke about their deepest fears. She and eight other children were then seized as hostages by the Knights of God, who put them to sleep and herded them along with controlling arrows to pressure the island's adult giants into a coming war. Jinbe doused a blaze meant to harm them, and various dangers followed, including being knocked out by a burst of Imu's Supreme King Haki. As the arrow drove the children toward a lethal drop, Karin's mother wrapped her arms around her and fell with her, only for Loki and Luffy below to break their fall. In the Western Village the children stood in front of their guardians to shield them from Sommers, whose thorns were finally halted by Zoro, Luffy, and Loki, freeing them.
