Summary

Speaking in a mock-yakuza cadence that baffles his crewmates, Luffy expresses his gratitude to Saul for having sheltered Robin long ago. The professor already knows the boy by reputation and is simply glad she found companions willing to guard her, which prompts most of the Straw Hats to sob that they would lay down their lives for her. After confessing the earlier collapse was staged with his assistant Ange playing the distressed voice, Saul asks the newly minted Emperor to keep watching over Robin, a request Luffy gladly accepts.

Lilith drops in and, once recognized, has Jinbe and Gerd haul over a crate shipped from Egghead. It holds a flawless duplicate of Dr. Vegapunk, the one who quietly toured Elbaph two decades ago to dodge the World Government's notice. Extracting it must wait until she constructs a fresh laboratory, and she promises Bonney she fully intends to restore Kuma. Meanwhile Luffy and Usopp bolt for the Walrus School, an institution Saul established twenty years prior at the king's urging.

There they meet placid giant children forbidden from harming or belittling humans, and their teacher Ripley explains that the terrifying giant pirates of legend belong to a century past. King Harald had pushed his people toward trade instead of pillaging, a vision that made him adored, yet Loki struck him down, and because the giants will not crown a killer, the throne sits empty. Ripley, among the last warrior-trained generation, compares Luffy's Gear Fifth to the fabled Nika. At the Owl Library, Saul recounts rescuing Ohara's volumes alongside Hajrudin, then warns Robin as the book she holds balloons to enormous size, an eerie property of the hall that brings her to grateful tears. Far below, Loki trades words with a remote acquaintance named Mosa, sensing a buried gentleness in his own harshness while flatly refusing to own it. As celebration fills the streets, black lightning splits a castle and a glowing circle leaves a hooded man and woman standing within it.

Key Events

Lilith discloses that a clone of Vegapunk "Stella" traveled with the group from Egghead, the same one that visited Elbaph twenty years before, and she plans a new lab both to free it from its container and to repair the mind of Kuma. Two institutions get explored, the Owl Library together with the Walrus School, introducing the librarian Ange and the teacher Ripley, with the revelation that Harald's reforms ended warrior training for the island's youth. The library gigantifies any book inside it. Loki communicates with the mysterious Mosa by Den Den Mushi, and a man and a woman appear on Elbaph through a magic circle.

Notes

Harald's trade-over-plunder reforms recast the giants' present-day temperament and clarify why his death left the country without a ruler. The color-spread cover depicts the crew wielding water guns atop a towering Franky mecha, honoring voice actor Kazuki Yao, whose retirement from the role had just been announced.
